On September 10, 1960, a previously-unknown Ethiopian runner named ABEBE BIKILA won the Olympic Marathon in Rome, Italy.

For the first time ever in the Washington DC area, you can watch the new documentary Green Flood, directed by Samson Negash Ghanna, and learn the inside story of the success of Ethiopian runners from Abebe Bikila to Miruts Yifter to Haile Gebrselassie today.
